I dont know if you guys caught the latest Dana White interview where he touched on Cro Cop situation again. I thought I’d post here in light of recent developments. Like in 99% of these phony interviews the DJ/host is always kissing his ass so hard its embarrassing. The guy asked him if Cro Cop called White and asked him to stop calling him names in the press (or words to that effect) and Dana replied, "hmm.. but you're pretty good." So in roundabout sleazy way saying yes. When asked if Cro Cop could ever return to the UFC, White replied, "See what happens. He hasn’t fought in Japan yet. See what happens".Dana also talked about a possible return of Vitor Belfort and Chuck Liddell. The full version is embedded below.
UFC 100 odds and betting lines
Odds are out for one of the most anticipated UFC events in recent years. This card not only features six of the UFC biggest names but includes a very impressive under card, with the likes of Mark Coleman and Stephan Bonnar set to kick things off. The main card will feature two title fights (Welterweight and Heavyweight) and a bout between the coaches of The Ultimate Fighter 9: United States vs. United Kingdom. On a completely different note, is it just me or has the UFC commentary been lacking as of late. I like Joe Rogan, he seems like a nice guy but my fondness for his “special comments” (and comedy too but that's another story) has waned. I think it all started around the Pride acquisition and culminated at UFC 79 at Lyoto Machida vs. Sokoudjou, when Joe Silva made the this isn’t Japan comment, insinuating that Soku's competition was easier in Japan and Rogan agreeing with him. He has came off a UFC company man ever since.
Mike Goldberg is just horrific. MMA commentating lacks the professionalism of the NBA, NFL etc, and is one of the few things that annoy me about MMA right now. I could tolerate it a few years ago when it was still a fringe sport but now its starting to bug me.
UFC 100 is the UFC biggest and most important card this year. Six huge names and arguably the new face of the UFC, Brock Lesnar, headline this epic card. Its one not to be missed. If you have friends or family that have yet to watch an MMA event, make sure they catch this card on PPV. For the betting inclined, i recommend heading over to Sportsbook and opening an account.

Artie Lange Kills On Joe Buck Live
If you're a fan of the Howard Stern Show you'll know that Artie Lange is one of the funniest guys on the planet. Last night he appeared on the Joe Buck Live show, once again he killed as he always does. He was the show, he saved the show. This clip has been making the rounds and has been covered on the New York Times and USA Today. Here is the video again, for those who have not seen it already.
Despite the outrage by certain sections of the media and Buck himself, Artie did exactly what the produces brought him on the show for. Sure he caused a little controversy but he saved that snore fest. Please never change Artie.

Cro Cop returns and leaves again?
He looked in the best form since his Pride days but was it just a game for Cro Cop? Did he fool us all or is there more to the story?
I listened to the pre-fight Cro Cop conference call and he really did say that his aim was the UFC title. Maybe there was some sort of misunderstanding where he thought that the UFC would let time fight in Germany, then let him go back to Japan for 2009, and let him return to the UFC for a title run in 2010? I don't know, but he doesn't seem like a guy who'd just screw over people.

Al-Turk will be looking to take him down early - he can only win via decision - a submission victory for him is very unlikely - his stand-up is not a threat to Mirko, remains one of the worlds best strikers. Once again Cro Cops hands will be his key to victory. Having watched many of his recent training sessions there is no doubt in my mind that Cro Cop will win in early in first via K.O or T.K.O. Put a dime on the 2006 OWGP winner, you wont regret it on Sunday.

UFC and Cro Cop reunite
Well by know you would have all heard the news that Cro Cop is after all returning to the UFC. This is the best news in sports that I've heard in a long while but still Paula Abdul is more stable than this guy. First he was in, than he was out but finally he came to his senses and made the right decision by the fans. Subjectively speaking he could have had few tough match-ups in Affliction an Dream too but the UFC was best decision for both for his career and legacy.
He can make a boat load of money, become a fan favorite once again and capture the most prestigious title in MMA if things go his way. There are huge number of match-ups to look forward to but I’m not going to count my chickens before they hatch. I think we’ve all been guilty of that when it comes to Cro Cop. The guy has all the tools to become one of the best once again, but its all mental with Mirko. I wish him the best and hope that UFC fans will finally see that famous left high kick.

UFC 98 Betting Odds Update
Full card odds and lines have finally been released for one of most important MMA events this year. Headling this speculator card will be the light heavyweight showdown between long time contender Lyoto Machida and TUF 2 winner Rashad Evans. Despite being current undefeated light champion Evans will enter the bout as a relatively big underdog. The odds makers expect Machida put in another flawless performance however at +175 Evans is starting to look like a value bet for some.
Also on the card is the grudge match between Matt Hughes and Matt Serra. Former welterweight champion Hughes is expected to return to form against fellow veteran Serra. Hughes is currently available at -270 while Serra is priced at +230. Note: Total Rounds betting is available for both the main event and the co-main event at 5Dimes.

MMA Betting Advice: Staying Cool
It’s very ironic that this first post on "MMA betting" coincides with my first major downswing of the year. April 2009 will see my first losing month since September 2008. No prizes for guessing when I’ll be booking my holidays in 2010.
Of course, having a losing run is not the end of the world. I’ve had them before, and no doubt I’ll have them again. While I hate losing money with a passion (the day I stop caring about losses is possibly the day I should go and find something else to do), it’s all good character-building stuff apparently and previous losing experiences have taught me to do certain things when I’m leaking more money than I would like to.
Top on my list is not to chase the losses! Such advice is given out so often that it falls into the category of an over-used cliche, but even now after years of betting, sometimes a little demonic voice whispers inside my head to put a little bit more on the next bet and get back that red figure straight away. Experience and mechanical bet sizing helps resist the temptation but that hasn’t always been the case.
Once I’ve sent that particular devil packing and have my emotions reasonably under control, I’ll set aside a little time to do some evaluation. I have written on a piece of paper near my desk “Good Bets Sometimes Lose and Bad Bets Sometimes Win”. Winning (or losing) money is not necessarily an indicator you are doing things right (or wrong). So if I’m losing money, is it just Lady Luck evening things out or has something slipped into my game that’s causing a leak?
Assessing whether luck is playing a role might require brutal honesty. And to be brutally honest, luck had nothing to do with it. This time around, it didn’t take too long to work out what the problem was. I’m just about to shift house and am moving to a town 100 kilometers away. While I had planned to take some time off this month, unfortunately Rugby Union is one of my main betting sports and the small matter of the Rugby World Cup seduced me into placing bets. Trouble is, I was placing bets without the usual standard of care and preparation thanks to the distraction of moving.
Occasionally losing runs are just the result of being plain unlucky. If that’s not the case, more often than not situational and/or motivational issues will be the cause or at least a contributing factor to a betting slide. Critically look in these areas for possible reasons for a bad run, not just wondering about luck or whether you’ve made a series of bad bets.
